International recruitment in adult social care can be complex, but NHS Professionals International provides the expert support you need to manage it with confidence. We offer a specialist support service tailored for Local Authorities, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), and adult social care providers across England. Our goals are to help you recruit ethically, retain skilled international and displaced care workers, and stay compliant with UK Home Office regulations.

Our expert-led service aligns with the objectives of the International Recruitment Regional Fund for Adult Social Care 2025–2026, helping you build sustainable recruitment capacity and reduce dependency on costly recruitment agencies.

Comprehensive support for displaced worker recruitment

Our service is designed to market and provide support to the displaced worker recruitment model for care providers, particularly those new to international recruitment. We offer an all-in-one support package that includes tools, training, and expert guidance to help providers recruit safely and effectively. Support includes:

  • Dedicated web portal – 24/7 access to step-by-step guides detailing how to recruit displaced workers quickly and safely, sponsorship advice, compliance checklists, and downloadable templates, all in one convenient place.
  • Expert helpline and consultation service – Direct telephone and email support from international recruitment specialists, available Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00. Bookable slots are available.
  • Specialist training – Interactive, online sessions covering sponsorship requirements, obtaining a sponsor licence, displaced workers, compliance, and ethical recruitment.
  • In-person support – Attendance at provider forums and events to market the service and support the promotion and benefits of recruiting displaced workers.

We promote the service through digital and traditional marketing, and in collaboration with Skills for Care. We also regularly participate in care provider forums. We provide detailed management information to ICB and Local Authority partners, including engagement data, key trends, and market insights.

Real stories, real success

In response to challenges in international adult social care recruitment, nine Local Authorities in Cheshire and Merseyside commissioned NHS Professionals International to provide expert training and support for care providers. Launched in September 2024, the service offers a helpline, one-to-one meetings, training on key topics, and a dedicated web portal.

Over time, it has evolved to address emerging needs, including training commissioning leads on sponsorship and expanding content on displaced workers. By equipping providers with knowledge and skills, NHS Professionals International has helped them navigate recruitment challenges, avoiding costly legal fees and ensuring continued care provision.
