  • We are supporting CESR programme (for those who would qualify), being mentored, coached, and supported by CESR Consultant to guide you in your application toward a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration - CESR. This programme will support you in your career progression and adaptation to the NHS.
  • In conjunction with Consultants and Senior colleagues, the speciality doctors play a full part in the out-of-hours On-Call service for the emergency and urgent care department. This includes being on-call and nights, referral of patients to appropriate in-patient facilities, Involvement in Emergency Medicine multi-disciplinary teams and meetings, support ENPs, ACPs and GP in urgent care depending on the needs of patients.
  • The post-holder must ensure that all relevant documentation is completed for each patient seen, including the required data input for the departmental computer systems and the generation of a GP letter if needed.

  • To provide specialist respiratory advice to acutely unwell respiratory patients
  • To facilitate early discharge or prevent admission of respiratory patients where appropriate.
  • To ensure respiratory patients benefit from specialist input when managed on an outlying ward.
  • Daily ward rounds
  • Participation in the General Internal Medicine responsibilities of the Respiratory Team including the general medical on call
  • Support of the unit’s goal of delivering highly effective care approaches
  • Teaching and training of undergraduate and postgraduate students and junior staff
  • Participate in both department and Trust matters concerning clinical governance and audit.
  • Have responsibility for ensuring active participation in CME throughout.
  • Support development and delivery of sub-specialist respiratory services

Qualifications / Experience required

  • Valid GMC
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Clinical attachment complete
  • Minimum of 3 months paid experience in the NHS/UK
