When Rhianna was younger, she never dreamed that a career in healthcare is where she would end up, but after being inspired by her mum’s 45 year career in the NHS and a passion for a job that was only ever meant to be a stop gap, that’s exactly what happened.

Why do you love working for the NHS?
My mum has been working for the NHS for 45 years. My mum inspired me to become part of the NHS and develop with an enthusiastic team. After working for several care homes, I developed my experience and joined the NHS I was over the moon. This was all I wanted to do was join a team where I could work effortlessly to help people with mental health problems. I am now developing my career further and I am a student nurse. I had not dreamed to have the ambition and future for myself that I have now. I have the NHS to thank for that.
How does flexible working make a difference to your life?
I am able to support my family with unexpected outgoings and university needs around my monthly wage.
What has been your proudest moment working for the NHS?
Getting to year 3 in my mental health nursing.
Tell us about your past
I have always lived in the UK but not always in Kent I was born in North Wales. The thought of working in healthcare when I was young was the last thing I wanted to do. I did it as a stop gap when I was 18 to develop my salon experience as a hairdresser and fell in love with the work.
Tell us about your life outside of the hospital
I spent my social life having coffee with friends, spending time with family or gaming with my husband.
