Five Hertfordshire and West Essex NHS clients sign up to work with NHSP again

The partnership continues! Major staffing contract re-awarded to NHS Professionals as five Hertfordshire & West Essex NHS clients sign up to work with NHSP again!

NHS Professionals (NHSP) is delighted to announce that five NHS organisations, including four NHS Trusts, who form the Hertfordshire & West Essex Bank Network, have officially signed a new multi-year contract to continue their partnership with NHSP.

The news comes after a competitive bid process to supply temporary staffing to the Bank Network, which was carried out through the NHS Workforce Alliance's Managed Staff Bank Framework. This structured procurement route is designed to help NHS organisations source temporary staffing services efficiently and compliantly.

The Bank Network is made up of:

  • East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust (ENHT)
  • Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust (HCT)
  • The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAH)
  • West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (WHHT)
  • Hertfordshire and West Essex ICB

As a result of this new contract, NHSP will now continue to manage the flexible workforce for the following staff groups: Nursing, Allied Healthcare Professionals, Healthcare Scientists, Admin & Clerical, Support Services and Doctors.

Having been in partnership since 2008, this long-term collaboration has enabled NHSP to provide a pool of 10,000 dedicated healthcare professionals (also known as Bank Members) across Hertfordshire and West Essex.

In just the last year, this innovative collaboration has brought some exceptional results across the region that support patient care, including:

  • Three million patient hours delivered
  • £2 million in agency spend saved across Nursing and Midwifery
  • £3.9 million in agency spend saved across all staff groups
  • 31% increase in Bank Doctor utilisation
