Consultant in Ophthalmology
We have an exciting opportunity for a consultant to work with us at University Hospitals Plymouth in Ophthalmology.
We are looking for a dedicated doctor ready to work in a Trust that puts their patients at the heart of everything they do.
This Role is within the excellent team in Ophthalmology. You will be responsible for providing exceptional care.
Although this role would be predominantly based in Plymouth University Hospitals Trust there may be the opportunity to work extra shifts across any of our partner Trusts.
Details about the role:
- Location: University Hospitals Plymouth Trust
- Days per week: Monday-Friday (some weekends)
- Shift Pattern: 9:00 – 17:00
- Start Date: ASAP
- Pay rate: £90
- Payment method: PAYE we do NOT facilitate payment through LTD/umbrella companies
General workload includes:
A working week for a full-time consultant is comprised of 10 programmed activities (PAs) each of which has a nominal timetable value of 4 hours.
- Demonstrate evidence of a sound ophthalmic training equivalent to that recognised in the UK.
- Evidence of ability to perform advanced subspecialty specific procedures.
- Demonstrate evidence of ability to communicate and co-operate well with patients and other health-care professionals
- Presentations at local/ regional/national/ international meetings
- Ability to lead a team
Doctors Direct recruit to the highest of NHS standards and all applicants for this role should meet pre-screening requirements before applying:
- Full GMC licence to practice
- MRCPCH Part I (Or equivalent)
- Minimum of 12 months General Professional Training or equivalent
- At least 18 months paediatric training, including 6 months of neonatology.
- APLS or equivalent
- Child Protection Level 2 Course
- Must be able to cover nights and long days
