Specialist Registrar Urgent Care Centre

Doctors Direct have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Registrar to work with us at Northern Care Alliance in the Urgent Care Centre.

We are looking for a doctor dedicated to, and passionate about, improving health and wellbeing within the Greater Manchester Community.

This Role is an ongoing ad-hoc placement which offer multiple shifts every day of the week with different start and finish times. This Role would be predominantly based in Rochdale with the opportunity to work extra shifts across the Trusts’ other sites and any of our partner Trusts.

 

Main Purpose of the Job:

The main remit of this post is to play an active part in all aspects of a patient’s medical care within the Urgent Care Centre at Rochdale Infirmary. The post holder will complement existing services within the Urgent Care Centre through the provision of specialist knowledge & expertise of working in an Accident & Emergency, Urgent Care medical setting in order to complement existing services. The post holder if therefore required to have full registration with the General Medical Council and a valid licence to practice. Experience in Emergency medicine is required.

 

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Clinical Care: Provide high-quality clinical care to patients presenting with urgent medical conditions, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and referral as appropriate.
  • Emergency Triage: Conduct rapid triage of patients to prioritize care based on the severity of their condition and ensure timely intervention for those requiring urgent attention.
  • Medical Assessment: Perform comprehensive medical assessments, including history-taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic investigations, to determine the appropriate course of action for each patient.
  • Emergency Procedures: Be proficient in performing emergency procedures such as resuscitation, airway management, wound management, and fracture stabilization to stabilize critically ill or injured patients.
  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals within the UCC, including nurses, physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff, to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.

  • Location: Northern Care Alliance – Greater Manchester
  • Days per week: Various Ad-hoc available every day of the week
  • Shift pattern: On going shifts – various start/finish times
  • Hours per week: Hours per week can be negotiated
  • Start date: ASAP- no end date, this is on-going the client will accept short term contracts
  • Rate of pay: £65 per hour
  • Payment method: PAYE we do NOT facilitate payment through LTD/umbrella companies

 

Important information

  • Please note that we are looking for a doctor who can commit to a minimum of 4 shifts per week (can be negotiated and arranged – please enquire for more information)
  • A Doctor who can do late twilight shifts when possible (Latest time would be around 3 am) please note not all shifts are twilights or late finish time. Majority of the jobs available are day shifts vary between the times of 8am-midnight
