Consultants Glaucoma

We have an exciting opportunity for a Glaucoma Consultant to work with us at Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust in the ophthalmology department.

This Role is a great opportunity within the fast paced Ophthalmology department. You will be responsible for comprehensive eye care to patients, ranging from routine eye exams to complex surgical procedures.

This role would be predominantly based in Manchester with the opportunity to work extra shifts across the Trusts’ other sites and any of our partner Trusts.

 

Requirements

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Conduct thorough examinations of patients' eyes to diagnose various eye conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and refractive errors.
  • Utilize specialized equipment and techniques such as slit lamp bio microscopy, fundoscopy, tonometry, and visual field testing to assess eye health and visual function.
  • Interpret diagnostic tests including optical coherence tomography (OCT), ultrasound, and angiography to aid in diagnosis.
  • Prescribe medications, corrective lenses, or other therapeutic interventions to manage eye diseases and alleviate symptoms.
  • Perform surgical procedures such as cataract extraction, corneal transplantation, retinal detachment repair, and laser eye surgery to restore or improve vision.

  • Location: Rochdale and Royal Oldham cross over
  • Shift patterns: Monday to Friday
  • Hours per week: 37.5 – 40 hours per week
  • Start date: ASAP – on going no end date
  • Rate per hour: £100 - £120
  • Payment method: PAYE we do NOT facilitate payment through LTD/umbrella companies
