Middle Grade A&E Doctor

Doctors Direct have an new and exciting opportunity for a Middle Grades to work with us at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust in A&E.

We are looking for a dedicated doctor ready to work in a fast-paced environment at a Trust serving more than 300,000 people across North Warwickshire, South West Leicestershire and North Coventry. This role would be predominantly based at George Eliot Hospital with the opportunity to work extra shifts across the Trusts’ other sites and any of our partner Trusts.

George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust opened in 1948 and provides a range of elective, non-elective, surgical, medical, women’s, children’s, diagnostic and therapeutic services. A full range of sexual health services across Warwickshire is also provided by the Trust.

 

The details of the role are:

  • Grade: Middle Grade/Registrar
  • Location: George Eliot
  • Start date: ASAP on going until further notice.
  • Shift pattern: Monday - Sunday, 20:00-8:00, night shifts, full & part time hours available
  • Rates: £70-£80 depending on experience (£70 core & £80 unsocial)

 

About the role:

As an accident and emergency doctor, it will be your responsibility to clinically assess all new arrivals to the accident and emergency department. You’ll need to assess patients quickly, with often little information to go by, you’ll need to have wide-ranging medical knowledge and be able to think on your feet. Although this can be challenging, this hugely rewarding job will put you on the front line of saving lives in emergencies. Commonly, you’ll need to respond to accidents and emergencies as varied as:

  • Minor cuts
  • Traffic accidents
  • Strokes
  • Heart attacks
  • Self-harm
  • Alcohol and drug-related ailments
