Celebrating you, our Nurses

To highlight on our amazing Nurses, we asked you to share what you love about your role. Hear from Registered Nurses, Esther and Gizelle, about their favourite aspects of the role:

"I was inspired by the need to care for people and be a part of their healing process, rehabilitating them back to their normal way of life and activities before illness. The most rewarding moments in my career where being nominated as colleague of the week, several times, as well as getting nominated for the Oscar award. Also, I receive multiple lovely comments about good care and hard work from patients and family members. What I love most about being a Nurse, is being able to walk an individual through the process of illness and recovery and be a good part of their healing process."

- Esther, Registered Nurse at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.

"I come from a family of nurses, I look up to my aunts and cousins who are Nurses as well. I think it is a very noble profession. When I was still an Adult Surgical Nurse, the most rewarding moments were seeing patients going home after their surgery with a better quality of life or just back to their usual baseline. I love being able to touch someone’s life and at the same time letting my experiences mould me into becoming a better nurse."

- Gizelle, Registered Nurse at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust.
