As we continue to celebrate our 2024 winners, we are thrilled to showcase more of the exceptional individuals who have gone above and beyond to make a difference.
From delivering outstanding patient care to supporting colleagues and embodying the values of the NHS, each G.E.M Award winner has made an incredible impact. Here are just a few of the inspiring stories from this year’s winners:

- Lesa was recognised for her “transformational leadership skills” and inspiring the team to use collaborative skills to go the extra mile in supporting one another. “Lesa empowers the team in making the best clinical, decisions whilst managing caseloads. Overall Lesa is an exceptional authentic leader”
- Parvathy was recognised for “introducing a weekly initiative called ‘Wellness Wednesdays’ to promote both the physical and mental health of staff, directly contributing to improved staff morale and patient care. These sessions are offered during work breaks to ensure accessibility for all staff members. The wellness activities are designed to improve both physical and mental health, creating a healthier work environment and helping staff manage the demands of their roles”
- Victor’s colleague said he “fosters a supportive and collaborative work environment. He actively listens, shares knowledge, and encourages his colleagues, creating a positive atmosphere that enhances team performance. His willingness to assist others, even during challenging situations, highlights his reliability and commitment to teamwork”
- Paula was recognised for her “knack of being able to build trusting therapeutic relationships which play a vital role in the success of rehabilitation and recovery for our young people”
“Paula is always the first to volunteer the plan and host extra activities for the young people, risk assessing and seeking funding from external services where needed” - Hannah’s colleague said “Her work has been crucial in alleviating long waiting lists, ensuring that patients who were desperately awaiting support received timely, individualized care. Hannah's commitment to patient care has been unwavering”
