Registrars General Medicine - Acute

 

We have an exciting opportunity for SHOs and Registrars to work with us at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust in General Medicine/Acute

Doctors Direct are looking for a dedicated SHOs and Registrars ready to work at a hospital where patient care is at the forefront of their vision.

You’ll work as part of the acute medical unit, which is often very busy. You’ll treat patients of all ages with a wide range of clinical problems. working in acute internal medicine assess, investigate, diagnose and manage patients with conditions that exhibit severe symptoms that develop quickly and may be life-threatening. You'll care for patients as they first arrive at hospital, making an initial diagnosis and providing treatment for up to 72 hours.

Key responsibilites

  • Performing minor and major surgical procedures
  • Keeping records of the patient’s disease, operations or treatments
  • Prescribing laboratory tests and interpreting the results obtained
  • Conducting face-to-face clinical evaluations on the impact of a patient’s injury
  • Prescribing medication or drugs, including dosage and usage and dispensing medication in accordance with governmental guidelines
  • Updating General Practitioners of their patient’s progress

Details about the role:

  • Speciality: General/Acute Medicine
  • Location: East & North Hertfordshire
  • Shift patterns: 9:00-21:00, on call, weekends & occasional shorter day shifts available (2-3 days per week would be accepted)
  • Hours per week: 20-50 hours available
  • Start date: ASAP- no end date, this is on-going the client will accept short term contracts
  • Middle Grade: £50-£70 per hour

  • Valid GMC
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Clinical attachment complete 
  • Minimum of 3 months paid experience in the NHS/UK
