Course Overview:

Evidence demonstrates that staff who receive clinical supervision feel supported, experience less stress and are less likely to leave the profession (Davenport 2013).  This 2 day course will equip professionals with the skills and knowledge to provide clinical supervision within the workplace.

  • To explore different models for clinical supervision and their application in the workplace
  • To explore reflective models and practices
  • To understand accountability and the law in relation to clinical supervision
  • To understand the roles of the supervisor and the supervisee

  • Definition of clinical supervision and its application to the workplace
  • Models of clinical supervision
  • Reflective Practice models
  • Legal aspects, including confidentiality, record keeping and accountability
  • Developing into the role of supervisor – practice sessions
  • Questioning styles
  • Group supervision and managing the group dynamic
  • Evaluating your supervision
