Developing Doctors as Teachers

To support varying clinical schedules, this course is available in two online formats.

Option 1: One-day course

A full-day interactive online programme with scheduled breaks.

Option 2: Evening sessions

Delivered across three evening sessions to help accommodate clinical commitments.

All three sessions must be attended to achieve certification.

Teaching and educational development are increasingly recognised as important aspects of a doctor's professional development.

This course can support applications to Health Education England training programmes, including GP and internal medicine training, by helping you demonstrate engagement in teaching and professional development.

This course is suitable for:

• Doctors preparing for specialty training applications

• Grades below ST6

Note we require that you have completed at least your first year of clinical practice.

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive:

• Course certification
• 8 hours of CPD

You can gain an additional 4 hours of CPD by:

1. Applying course techniques to local teaching activities
2. Gathering learner feedback
3. Completing a written reflection
4. Submitting the reflection for review

The total available CPD is 12 hours.

The course is delivered online through Microsoft Teams.

You will need:

• A working microphone and camera
• Active participation in discussions throughout the sessions
