G.E.M Awards 2021

The G.E.M (Going the Extra Mile) Awards celebrates and rewards individuals for their contributions to our NHS.  

After the success of last year’s G.E.M awards, we have expanded the award categories further to acknowledge the achievements of more doctors and Bank Members.

This year the G.E.M Awards will focus on significant contribution for innovation, improving the quality of care and supporting health, wellbeing and staff morale.

Dates for your diary

  • Nominations open on 1st December 2021
  • Entries close on 31st January 2022
  • Judging will take place between 7th-11th Feb 2022
  • Clinical judging by our Chief Nurse, Juliette Cosgrove (Nursery and Midwifery), Responsible Officer, Helen McGill (Medical), Head of Operations, Kirsty Fielding (Allied Health Professionals, Healthcare Scientists and Personal Social Services)
  • Non – clinical judging by Justin Hall, Director of Non-Clinical  
  • Winners will be announced by Friday 25th March 

Prize

Each winner will receive a £365 Amazon voucher and a runner up will receive a £150 Amazon voucher.

  + Nurse of the year

A registered nurse who deserves to be recognised for their significant contribution for their innovation / significant contribution to improving the quality of care delivered to patients and/or demonstrating innovative ways to support Health and Wellbeing and staff morale (individuals or teams).

 

Who can be nominated?

Nominations for this category are for NHSP nurses and can be accepted from colleagues, ward managers or consultants.

  + Midwife of the year

A midwife who deserves to be recognised for their significant contribution for their innovation / significant contribution to improving the quality of care delivered to  patients and/or demonstrating innovative ways to support Health and Wellbeing and staff morale (individuals or teams).

 

Who can be nominated?

Nominations for this category are for NHSP midwives and can be accepted from colleagues, ward managers or consultants.

  + HCA/CSW of the year

A healthcare support role such as Health Care Assistants (HCAs) / Care Support Worker (CSW) who deserves to be recognised for their significant contribution for their innovation / significant contribution to improving the quality of care delivered to  patients and/or demonstrating innovative ways to support Health and Wellbeing and staff morale (individuals or teams).

 

Who can be nominated?

Nominations for this category are for NHSP HCA’s/CSWs and can be accepted from colleagues, ward managers or consultants.

Nominations for this category are for doctors on the Gateway programme and can be accepted from Medical Directors, Gateway Leads in the Trust and colleagues..

Who can nominate?

Nominations for this category are for NHSP/ Doctors Direct Ward, Location and Department Managers, Bookers who have inspired their teams and make everyone in the team feel like part of the NHS Family. Nominations are accepted from substantive and NHSP bank staff.
