Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust works in partnership with NHS Professionals (NHSP), owned by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), to provide a bank of highly skilled temporary workers who want to work flexibly within the NHS. 

Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has a rich tradition of developing Nursing and Midwifery practice and delivering excellent patient care. The Trust cares for a population of 258,000 people across Southport, Formby and West Lancashire, and provides the following services: 

• Adult and children’s Accident and Emergency services 
• Intensive care 
• A range of medical and surgical specialties 
• Women’s and children’s services, including maternity 
• The North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre provides specialist care for spinal patients from across the North West, North Wales and the Isle of Man

 Joining NHSP 

• If you are looking to join NHSP to support Mersey and West Lancashire with additional shifts, please visit our support pages on joining the bank, and any queries please email the Mersey and West Lancashire Team. 
• If you are an agency worker looking to move over to the bank you can also follow this link, you will be given 1^st choice of shifts, holiday pay and will also be entitled to the seasonal incentives that we offer. Please note we will need to give your agency four weeks’ notice. 

 NHSP important notifications 

• Please be aware that you may be asked to move wards as and when required – this is due to the needs of the trust. 
• Access logins – please be aware you may need system access dependent on role in order to use the systems at Mersey and West Lancashire, this will be organised with you when you join or alternatively please contact so@nhsp.nhs.uk if your role requires access.
