NHS Professionals celebrates National Apprenticeship Week

NHS Professionals is proud to be supporting National Apprenticeship Week, which takes place between Monday 6 February and Sunday 12 February 2023. The week provides an opportunity to showcase the benefits that apprentices can bring to local communities, businesses, and the wider economy. This week brings together everyone passionate about apprenticeships to celebrate the value, benefit, and opportunity that apprenticeships bring.

This year’s theme is ‘Skills for Life’. It encourages everyone to consider how apprenticeships can help people gain the skills and knowledge needed to develop and grow in the careers of their choice.

NHS Professionals, which has over 1000 employees and recently achieved the Top Employers status for the third consecutive year, has been successfully running the apprenticeship programme for over five years.  NHS Professionals is committed to supporting and developing its corporate employees and the recent Top Employers accreditation is a huge testament to the ongoing commitment to make NHS Professionals a great place to work for all its corporate employees. Currently there are over 70 employees on programme, with 27 completed.

To mark the week, NHS Professionals shines a spotlight on one of their apprentices, Catherine Madeley, Trust Services Area Manager at Manchester University Foundation Trust, and the difference her apprenticeship programme has made to her career. Find out how the apprenticeship programme has helped Catherine by watching this short video.

Helen Ives, who recently joined NHS Professionals as Chief People Officer said “Apprenticeships are really about the future of work – the opportunity to learn on the job, build the skills that we need now and, in the future, and continually develop in new ways.

Having a thriving community of apprentices in your organisation should be at the centre of workforce strategy.  We are incredibly proud of our apprentices in NHS Professionals and can’t wait to see where they take us in the future.”
