The Cabinet Office National Fraud Initiative 2026

NHS Professionals (NHSP) is participating in the National Fraud Initiative (NFI), an exercise that matches electronic data within and between public and private sector bodies to prevent and detect fraud. It is run every two years and co-ordinated by the Cabinet Office.  

This is a mandatory exercise for all government owned organisations like NHSP. 

Did you know that your data will be included? 

Key payroll data and personal identifiers such as contact details may be provided to bodies responsible for auditing and administering public funds for the purposes of preventing and detecting fraud.  

All Trusts and Integrated Care Boards are mandatory participants along with all Councils, Home Office, Police, Fire and Rescue Service and the NHS Pension Scheme amongst others. 

The data downloads dates will be confirmed in due course, and these include NHS Payroll and Finance data.
