Uniform and Dress Policy Reminder

FEB 26 Uniform Reminder

Delivering safe, high-quality patient care includes maintaining a professional appearance at all times. Please ensure you follow NHS Professionals' uniform standards and your local Trust's dress code when working in clinical areas. This includes wearing the correct uniform for the role you are performing and the department you are working in.

Key Uniform Reminders:

  • ID badges must be worn at all times AND personal photo identification must brought to each shift. For more information, please visit our Help and Support article What do I need to bring to a shift?
  • Hands must be clean. No false nails, nail varnish, or long nails, especially if you're providing direct care.
  • Hair must be tidy and tied up if below the collar.
  • No false eyelashes during assignments, in line with NHS guidelines.
  • Jewellery should be minimal - only a plain ring and stud earrings allowed.
  • If your clothing becomes marked or soiled, please change immediately. Please speak with the Ward or Line Manager if loan clothing is required.
