Trust ID Swipe Card (Mandatory for all roles)

All NHS Professionals Bank Member must get a Trust ID card. This will give you swipe access to wards and clinical areas that you will be working in. To get a Trust ID card:

  1. Complete a consent form which can be downloaded by clicking here
  2. Send completed consent form to STSFT@nhsprofessionals.nhs.uk with a passport style photo/selfie and confirm whether you need access to South Tyneside, Sunderland, or both locations

Meditech/EMIS systems

Meditech is the electronic patient observation system used in the hospital (acute sites only). If you are a Registered Nurse or Care Support Worker, you will need to complete relevant training BEFORE booking your first shift. To book into this training please email STSFT@nhsprofessionals.nhs.uk and we will send you a list of available dates.

Note: Login details will be issued to you at the training session 

  • Registered Nurses will need to attend 2 sessions. Part one is a full day and part two is a half day
  • Care Support Workers/Health Care Assistants will need to attend one half day
  • Time spent attending the training is paid. You will be reimbursed shortly after completing your first shift. If you have any queries about this payment you can contact the local team by emailing STSFT@nhsprofessionals.nhs.uk
  • If you are a Student Nurse at the Trust, or have recently left a permanent post and you already have access you DO NOT need to repeat this training however you must email STSFT@nhsprofessionals.nhs.uk and ask that your access is not de-activated.
  • If you are planning to work in the Emergency Department you will need to complete additional Meditech training which can only be booked after the general training has been completed. Please speak to the ED Ward Manager to request the additional Meditech training.

EMIS is a community based system and can be arranged through the Ward/Team you are working with. Please speak to the Nurse in charge/Manager during your first shift and request this training.

Some Bank Members may be able to obtain a Staff Parking Permit, however this is not guaranteed. You can contact the Parking Office to find out more about staff parking options:
