One of only four dedicated children’s hospital Trusts in the UK you will be based at the state-of-the-art Becton Centre, the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Unit (CAMHS) for children and young adults aged up to 18 with mental health issues and learning disabilities.

 

The centre offers intensive outreach treatment, day and inpatient services.  Here, Mental Health Nurses are specially trained to work with children and young people with mental health problems, experienced at working with individuals and with parents.

Band 5 Pay Rates:

Days: £14.08                   Saturdays/Nights: £18.30            Sunday/Bank Hols: £22.53                    

Scoring consistently highly in local and national surveys about the quality of care and the dedication of their staff, the Trust is committed to being a leader in the field of training and research in children’s healthcare and continue to deliver a strong portfolio of research and product innovation.  To help achieve this, you will:

  • Have a minimum of 6 months paid experience of mental health nursing at Band 5 level in an acute hospital environment within the last 2 years
  •  Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices
  • Undertake nursing assessment and evaluation to enable development of appropriate plans of care based on the needs of the individual
  • Be proficient in the delivery of care to patients
  • Ensure safe administration of drugs in accordance with NMC and CHS policies
  • Ensure accurate records are kept in accordance with CHS policy and NMC guidelines
