NHS Professionals had a fabulous day sponsoring Leeds Pride

On 6th August, myself and other colleagues from the NHSP LGBTQ Staff Support Network attended Pride in Leeds. NHSP were a Premium Sponsor of the event.

Having only ever spoken with the other members of the support network on Teams, it was great to finally meet everyone in person – everyone was really excited about representing NHS Professionals in the parade and I couldn’t have wished for a better group of people to do that with.

The event was attended by approximately 75,000, and walking the parade route with my NHSP colleagues was an incredibly affirming experience. The support and love we felt from the thousands of people lining the streets was incredibly uplifting and reaffirmed to us how loved the NHS is with the public. Everyone in NHSP got into the party spirit, with flags, make up and fans and it was such a fun experience to take part in and something that will stay with me for a long time.

It is incredibly important for an inclusive organisation such as NHSP to be a part of events such as this, and everyone agreed it set the tone for NHSP’s participation in other Pride events in future.
