Introducing our new Inpatient Pool Wards

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and NHS Professionals are excited to introduce two new Inpatient Pool Wards for bank members. This new initiative has been designed to link our NHSP bank members with priority shifts and will be run on a 6-month trial basis.

The benefits

We will be offering the following benefits to our bank members, who work Inpatient Pool Ward shifts:

  • Increased pay – please see pay rates below.
  • Varied work – experience something different every shift by working in various wards.
  • Free on-site staff parking – available at Prospect Park Hospital, West Berkshire Community Hospital and Wokingham Community Hospital.

Where can you work Inpatient Pool Ward shifts?

If you are a Registered General Nurse, you will be able to work through the West Community Inpatient Pool. This covers Oakwood Unit in Reading and the Inpatient Units at West Berkshire Community Hospital in Thatcham and Wokingham Community Hospital.

The increased rate of pay is only available when a bank member has chosen to book a West Community Inpatient Pool shift. It will not be applied if a worker books a ward shift and is subsequently redeployed for operational reasons.

Please see gross hourly pay rate below, excluding holiday entitlement:
