The Urgent and Emergency Care Centre (open since 2017), deals with around 105,000 attendances per year (based on 290 patients per day) and there are approximately 30,000 day cases, 40,000 inpatients and 250,000 outpatient attendances at the Trust each year.

Excellent transport links and close proximity to the M1 and M18 motorways, mean their location is commutable from numerous locations including Huddersfield, Sheffield, Barnsley, Chesterfield and Doncaster.

Skills/Responsibilities

To apply for this post:

The post holder(s) will work independently assessing musculoskeletal patients within the Rotherham GP Hubs. The successful candidates will assess/triage patients within 20 minute appointments following appropriate care navigation by the GP Practice teams.

The First Contact Physiotherapist will operate at an advanced level of clinical practice with skills to assess, diagnose, treat and manage musculoskeletal (MSK) problems and undifferentiated conditions. This will involve seeing patients, without prior referral from their GP, to establish a rapid and accurate diagnosis and management plan thus streamlining pathways of care.

The successful candidates will be an experienced Physiotherapist who:

  • Displays energy and passion in the pursuit of service excellence and delivery of a positive patient experience
  • Can support the FCP service and Clinical Lead to meet established targets and objectives
  • Has evidence of the development of advanced MSK assessment skills
  • Can evidence advanced MSK/Orthopaedic clinical experience and skills

The successful applicant will have:

  • Current HCPC registration
  • Full driving license with access to a vehicle for business use
  • Valid work permit or be eligible to work within the UK
