Round table talk with Dr Faisal Sethi: COVID & Mental Health: A Perspective from the Mental Health Frontline

Dr Faisil Sethi is a Consultant Psychiatrist in Psychiatric Intensive Care at the Maudsley Hospital in London (South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust). He will be hosting a special round table webinar focussed around Covid-19 and Mental Health with some of his esteemed colleagues.

This round table discussion promises to be thought provoking and insightful with each speaker presenting their thoughts on different key areas within psychiatry relating to Covid-19.

1800 – 1815: Infection, Mental Health and Adjusting to the COVID Reality. Dr Matthew Butler.

1815 – 1830: Pandemics & Chronic Effects on Mental Health. Dr Jonathan Rogers.

1830 – 1845: The COVID Infective Window in the Psychiatric Setting. Dr Luke Skelton.

1845 – 1900: Risk & COVID in the Inpatient Psychiatric Setting. Dr Lucy Blake.

1900 – 1915: Leading the Multiprofessional Team in the COVID Crisis. Dr Faisil Sethi.

Dr Matthew Butler

Dr Butler MBChB MRes is an NIHR academic clinical fellow at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. His clinical and research interests are in neuropsychiatry. Current role: Core Trainee in psychiatry (SLaM) and academic clinical fellow (KCL).

Dr Jonathan Rogers

Dr Jonathan Rogers MA MRCP MRCPsych is a Wellcome Trust Clinical Training Fellow in the Division of Psychiatry, University College London and a Specialty Registrar in General Adult and Old Age Psychiatry at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. His research focusses on the neurobiological basis of severe psychiatric illness and clinical neuropsychiatry.

Dr Luke Skelton

Dr Skelton is a psychiatry registrar working in the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at the Maudsley Hospital in London. Prior to his psychiatry training he spent two years working in acute medicine and completed an MSc in Palliative Care. He is a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Roehampton and a Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Fellow.

Dr Lucy Blake

Dr Blake is a specialist registrar training in general adult and older adult psychiatry. Lucy has spent the past 8 months working in Psychiatric Intensive Care (PICU) at the Maudsley Hospital in London. Her clinical and service development interests include the management behavioural disturbance, improving access to sexual and reproductive health for women with serious mental illness and promoting staff wellbeing and retention through the Arts.

Dr Faisil Sethi

Dr Sethi is a Consultant Psychiatrist in Psychiatric Intensive Care (PICU) at the Maudsley Hospital in London. Dr Sethi has over a decade of clinical experience in the PICU assessment and management of acute clinical crises. He was a past Vice Chair of the National Association of Psychiatric Intensive Care Units (NAPICU) and a past Elected Member of the General Adult Psychiatry Faculty Executive at the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He is a current member of the NHSP Medical Advisory Group.
