We have flexible Bank shifts and long-term placement opportunities available for Registered Nurses (Band 5) available at Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust, specifically in the following wards and areas:

  • A&E/ED
  • Trauma and Orthopaedic
  • General Acute
  • General Surgery
  • General Medicine
  • Allocation Ward

The University of Liverpool has awarded SO NHS Trust the status of University Clinical Education Centre in recognition of the high standard of training provided for students on placement to the Trust.

Band 5 pay rates are:

Days: £15.55 Saturdays/Nights: £20.21 Sunday/Bank Hols: £24.88

Allocation Ward Rates:

Days: £22.81Saturdays/Nights: £24.98 Sunday/Bank Hols: £30.74

To apply for these posts, you will:

  • Have a minimum of 6 months paid experience at Band 5 level in a hospital environment within the last 2 years
  • Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices
  • Undertake nursing assessment and evaluation to enable development of appropriate plans of care based on the needs of the individual
  • Be proficient in the delivery of care to patients
  • Ensure safe administration of drugs in accordance with NMC and CHS policies
  • Ensure accurate records are kept in accordance with CHS policy and NMC guidelines
  • Carry out nursing procedures and techniques in accordance with agreed policies and standards
  • Undertake regular mandatory training
