Osagie’s field of study was environmental studies, but because of his passion for caring for those less fortunate than himself he decided to change his path and pursue a career within the NHS. Osagie’s favourite part of work is working with patients with disabilities and the elderly, which he says spurs him on to work harder to put a smile on their faces.

His dedication to his role within the NHS is truly inspiring. Thank you Osagie.

Why do you love working for the NHS?

Working for NHSP is more or less like working in a family team. I have worked in so many Trust and agencies, however, joining NHSP has really broadened my scope and a sense of fulfilment. There are so many outstanding achievements that are synonymous with NHSP. The organisational ability is second to none. Everything works to perfection regarding administrative procedures. The shift booking patterns, training procedures, prompt payment of salary, all these are good testament of NHSP. Above all, the team working spirit of the entire staff is so real. I am so long yet, but I have the aspiration to work for a very long time. I have the need to tell others the 'goodies' about NHSP. Thank you NHSP for giving me the opportunity to be part your team.

How does flexible working make a difference to your life?

The good thing about working on a flexible pattern is that it affords you the opportunity of choosing when to work. There are people with family issues like the school runs, thus, with flexibility, it now affords families to have a probable working plan that would benefit them.

What has been your proudest moment working for the NHS?

Every day is the proudest moment of my working in the NHS. The joy of going to work almost every day the proud moment for me. Working in the elderly wards and patients with disability issues touches my heart. This aspect makes me to work harder just to put smile of satisfaction to those who desire it most. The first commandments of any support worker are to serve those in need, the most vulnerable. Let come together, let’s work together.

Tell us about your past

Originally, I am from Nigeria. But I am also from the Netherlands. Before coming to the UK, I have never thought of working in the hospital environment. My field of study was in environmental studies. However, because of the love and passion I have for those in need of care, I decided to look towards the health sectors.

Tell us about your life outside of the hospital

I am a man of working in harmony with others. I love travelling, reading, listening to news. I love table tennis and long tennis, also football.
