Two female doctors facing each other in conversation.

Tahir Baig

Dr Tahir watched his father serve patients as a G.P from a young age, inspiring him to become a doctor. He strives to work hard day in, and day out for patients and their families, ensuring they get the best care possible. Working for Doctors Direct not only offers him the benefits he deserves, but also assures him that he is working through an organisation that puts the future of the NHS and patient safety first!

Why do you love working for the NHS?

I feel at home and supported while working with Doctors Direct. They have amazing, professional and very helpful staff members. I also love my AMU team and I do not want to leave them. I previously worked as a locum for agencies but never enjoyed it. I joined Doctors Direct in February 2018 and have never had this type of job satisfaction previously. I have already referred some of my friends working through agencies and now they have joined. Doctors Direct benefits both trust’s and locums. Their advantages include holiday pay, and an hourly rate that is competitive with agencies. I love my Doctors Direct family as my own family.

How does flexible working make a different to your life?

I can manage my time, my holidays, family commitments and feel more secure working in friendly and supportive atmosphere

What has been your proudest moment working for the NHS?

I always work hard and adapted very quickly working as an Acute consultant. My proudest moment is getting amazing feedback from staff members, medical students, patients and their families. My hard work is much appreciated. I would love to continue working in the NHS and for Doctors Direct, my aim is to retire at this hospital.

What made you decide to become a doctor? Was it always a career you wanted to pursue?

My dad was GP watching him serve people inspired me.

Do you have any hobbies or interests?

I have wife and 4 children, my youngest baby girl is only 2 weeks old! I love my family, tourism and good food. I also have a good relationship with my colleagues and we often socialise outside of work. I love cooking, sometimes we all cook and bring a dish t work!
