Specialist Registrar A&E

Doctors Direct have a new and exciting opportunity for SpR doctors to work with us at Northern Care Alliance Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in A&E.

We are looking for a dedicated doctor ready to work in a fast-paced environment at a Trust serving more than 300,000 people across North Warwickshire, Southwest Leicestershire and North Coventry. This role would be predominantly based at NCA with the opportunity to work extra shifts across the Trusts’ other sites and any of our partner Trusts.

NCA NHS Trust opened in 1948 and provides a range of elective, non-elective, surgical, medical, women’s, children’s, diagnostic and therapeutic services. A full range of sexual health services across Warwickshire is also provided by the Trust.

 

The details of the role are:

  • Grade: SpR
  • Location: Northern Care Alliance
  • Start date: ASAP on going until further notice
  • Shift pattern: various shift patters, full/part time shifts available
  • Rates: £55-£65 per hour

 

About the role:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients presenting to the emergency department, considering their medical history, conducting physical examinations, and determining the urgency and nature of their conditions.
  • Perform and supervise advanced medical procedures and interventions, including resuscitation efforts, intubation, and other critical care procedures.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to junior medical staff, including SHOs (Senior House Officers), foundation doctors, and medical students. Offer guidance in patient management and ensure a high standard of care.
  • Manage complex medical cases, coordinate the care of patients with multiple medical issues, and collaborate with specialists from other disciplines when necessary.
  • Make critical decisions regarding patient care, treatment plans, and the need for further investigations. Work closely with consultants and other senior medical staff to make informed decisions.
  • Adhere to and contribute to the development of emergency medicine protocols and guidelines. Stay updated on the latest advancements and evidence-based practices in the field.
