We are honoured to welcome back Professor Babak Javid as the speaker for our webinar on Thursday 18th June between 18:00 – 19:30.

A few infectious detours

Professor Babak Javid is a Professor at the Tsinghua University School of Medicine in Beijing and an honorary consultant in infectious diseases at Cambridge University Hospitals.  He trained at the University of Cambridge, the Hammersmith and University College hospitals, London, and Addenbrooke's Hospital.  He has recently accepted a position in the Division of Experimental Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine.

His primary research interest is in the fundamental pathophysiology of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the cause of tuberculosis.

In addition to his research and clinical roles, Babak is passionate about training and career development of both clinical and scientific mentees.
