HCA Assessment Day, 25th February at Stoke Mandeville Hospital

I took part in my 3rd HCA Assessment Day at Stoke Mandeville Hospital on Saturday 25th February.
It was the busiest Assessment Day I had supported with, we had over 70 applicants attending. The Buckinghamshire Healthcare recruitment team guided applicants to me once they had been successfully interviewed and I would then explain the benefits of working on the Bank.
All the successful applicants were really interested (one even had parents working at the Trust so was already aware of the Bank) and the chance to gain experience in other wards, along with extra shifts and pay were certainly a key factor in their enthusiasm at joining. I had lots of very positive feedback about the idea of the Bank and the work NHSP does in supporting the Trust in filling shifts.
I am confident that we will get plenty of Substantive sign ups to the bank as a result of the back of the Assessment Day, given how much interest was generated.
It was also a great opportunity to link in with a lot of my key Trust stakeholders, matrons sisters and ward managers and continue to foster my relationships with them in between their interviews with the applicants.
