Renewing your DBS

We must renew your DBS every year to ensure the highest level of patient safety. If you don’t renew your DBS, you can’t book any future shifts once it expires.

How can I update my DBS?

There are 2 routes for renewing your DBS depending on if you are on the update service or not. The update service is an online subscription service payable to the DBS Authority. It keeps your DBS certificate up to date every year for £13 per year. There’s more information on the DBS update service on the Government website here.

What happens if I don’t renew my DBS?

You won’t be able to book another shift until you complete the tasks you must take to renew your DBS certificate. To avoid losing any shifts, we will email you in advance to ensure there is enough time to complete all tasks. We recommend checking your email inbox and junk mail folders regularly.
