Who can join?
 
If you’re a Care Support Worker or Health Care Assistant you can register with NHS Professionals for flexible work opportunities suited to your skills and competency levels.

Our only stipulation is that you meet the minimum experience required by our client Trusts. This can be either three months or six months experience gained in the NHS, during the last two years. The number of months experience required, depends on which Trust/s you want to work at.

How do I become an NHSP:Bank member?
 
If you are not currently employed by one of our client Trusts, you can register to become a full NHSP:Bank member and gain access to additional hours at a large number of other NHS Trusts. You must complete a full bank membership, which you can start here today.
 
We then screen your application to ensure you meet the basic membership criteria and have the required minimum experience. We also match your skills and availability with the shift demand of our client Trusts – this helps to ensure there will be suitable shifts available to you when you’ve completed the process and are ready to work.

Registration follows a rigorous recruitment process that is fully compliant with NHS Employment Check Standards and can take a long time.

The length of time it will take depends on your availability to attend and complete the interview process, the time taken to receive your references and DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service, previously Criminal record Bureau) form. We need your help in working with us to keep this duration to a minimum.
 
10 steps to NHSP:Bank Full membership registration

After you have completed your online application and
successfully met our screening criteria:
 
  1. YOU book to attend your interview via our online portal and complete the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) form,  the link to which will be emailed to you
  2. YOU tell your referees that we will be contacting them to obtain references and ask them to reply quickly
  3. YOU attend your assessment day, which includes an interview, knowledge assessment,   document checks and how to order your uniform (if applicable)
  4. YOU complete your online training and Occupational Health form
  5. We contact your referees
  6. We complete your Occupational Health clearance
  7. YOU send us your DBS disclosure
  8. YOU book and complete you practical mandatory training (if applicable)
  9. WE send you your ID badge and login details to access NHSP:Online, the shift booking system
  10. We will help you to book your first few shifts, should you require any assistance
