Speciality Child and Adolecent Psychiatry

 

 

Doctors Direct have new opportunities for Speciality Doctor with Child and Adolescent experience. We have multiple roles at many sites across Rotherham Doncaster & South Humber NHS Foundation Trust providing community, inpatient and outpatient mental health care and learning disability inpatient services.

 

In this role you’ll diagnose and treat acute illnesses, chronic diseases. Your patients will often have several medical conditions and be taking a number of different medicines.

 

Some common conditions you’ll might treat include:

 

  • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD):
  • Anxiety Disorders
  • Depressive Disorders:
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) and Conduct Disorder (CD)
  • Eating Disorders
  • Developmental Disorders
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll work closely with medical colleagues including GPs and other hospital doctors as well as experts in the community such as social workers. Your ability to collaborate and work well with others will be vital.

 

The role demands a strong sense of compassion and the ability to adopt a holistic, patient-centric approach. need a comprehensive knowledge of psychiatrist specializing in the mental health care of children and adolescents

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • You will have input into various aspects of this well-established Child and Adolescent service, carrying out assessments and implementing treatment plans for patients with both organic and functional illnesses.
  • Providing specialist assessment and care planning in conjunction with service users and carers.
  • Evaluating treatment plans and undertaking discharge planning.
  • Responsible Clinician duties within the community team.
  • Being responsible for an agreed case load.
  • Responding to and informing referrers other professionals as necessary on decisions, care plans, policy, and best practice.
  • Providing clinical leadership within a collective leadership model.
  • Active participation in continuing professional development activities.

Details about the Role:

  • Specialty required: Speciality Doctor, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Locations: Doncaster.
  • Start Date: ASAP-ongoing, no end date yet.
  • Days per week: Monday-Friday (occasional on calls)
  • Shift Pattern: 9:00-17:00, including on call occasionally.
  • Pay rate: £60-£75 per hour (depending on experience).
  • Payment method: PAYE we do NOT facilitate payment through LTD/umbrella companies

You will need to have the following key skills and experience:

  • To have a genuine passion for working with Children and Adolescents.
  • To be able to work well in a team.
  • To have excellent leadership qualities.
  • To provide evidenced based care that is recovery focused.

The minimum requirements for the role are:

  • Valid GMC.
  • Right to work in the UK (we DO NOT provide sponsorship).
  • Clinical attachment complete.
  • Minimum 3 months paid UK experience.
  • S12 desirable
